Career Summary:

As an accountant, division controller and vice-president of finance for an entire region, I have experience in finance & accounting, management of Human Resources and business operations and strategy and inventory management.  With this 35 years of experience, I have been able to help countless small business owners and entrepreneurs optimize their finances and resources in order to have a successful business practice.  I have helped many clients start their business and I have helped numbers of business owners gain control of their finances.

  Ken Copp

Mentoring Skills: Retail business, customer service, real estate, education.  Career Summary: Ken has had a varied background in many different areas.  He has been a buyer for Procter & Gamble Company, a real estate salesman, a gift receiving officer, a Public Relations & continuing education officer and has held many positions at various universities and colleges.  He has owned a retail clothing store and was owner and creator of SERVICHEK, a customer service and auditing firm.  Mr. Copp is a huge source of information and is able to impart his knowledge in a very straight-forward and easy to understand manner.  He is currently residing in Danville, Ky and is our representative for the southern part of the state, however, he is able to meet Lexington clients at a halfway point between Danville and Lexington.

 

  John Darnell

  Barbara Ellerbrook, Nonprofit Mentor

Mentoring Skills: Non profits, strategic planning and grant development.  Career Summary: Master’s in Human Relations from Oklahoma University, retired Executive Director of nonprofit social service organizations, with over 25 year’s experience.  Experience: Administered nonprofit social service agencies for over 25 years, in Illinois, West Virginia, Oklahoma, and Kentucky.  Consulting with nonprofit organizations to aid in board development, strategic planning, budgeting and finance, program development, grants development and management (Federal and state), contract management.  Currently serve on two nonprofit boards of directors.  Industry:  Nonprofit Social Services (child abuse, domestic violence, corrections, MH/MR, therapeutic residential for adults and adolescents, Hospice, and substance abuse).

  Doug Steele, Vice Chair

Walter Thompson (bank marketing) before arriving in Lexington.  President of Interspace Limited,CEO of a Lexington based investor group based on wholesale distributing.  In 1995 formed Mountain Metals Manufacturing with Calvin Baird and several other shareholders and served as Secretary and Board Member.  Developed a market differentiation strategy including conducting basic financial seminars for retail entrepreneurial customers.  Presented this to various groups in Lexington including Commerce Lexington and the Gatton School at the University of Kentucky.  Also served as financial analyst for UK's Innovation & Commercialization Center.  Started Steele Metrics in 2012.  Industry Experience:  Financial Analysis, Accounting, Banking, Marketing and Wholesale Distribution.
